학술발표 219편, 초청연제 12개국 65편 발표 진행 등

지난 4월 21일(금)~22일(토) 부산해운대그랜드호텔에서 개최된 제6차 아시아복부영상의학회 학술대회(The 6th Asian Congress of Abdominal Radiology, ACAR 2017: 학술대회장 김승협, 조직위원장 김명진, 사무총장 조정연)가 성황리에 마무리된 것으로 확인되었다.

이번 ACAR 2017의 최대 특징은 국내보다 해외 참석자가 많았다는 점과 몽골, 인도네시아 등에서 많이 참가하여 눈길을 모았다.

실제 ACAR 2017은 29개국 604명(국내 285명, 해외 319명)이 등록하였으며, 12개국에서 58명이 초청돼 65편의 연제가 발표되었으며, 총 219편(구연 발표 45편, 전시 발표 129편, Informal Presentation 45편)의 학술발표가 진행되었다.

이번 ACAR 2017에서는 주요 초청연자로 SAR 회장(Judy Yee, 2015~2016, University of California San Francisco)(William W. Mayo-Smith, 2016-2017, Brigham and Women’s Hospital), ESUR 회장(Harriet Thoeny, 2014-2016, Universitätsklinik Inselspital Bern), ESUR 차기회장(Raymond Oyen, University Hospital Leuven), ESGAR 회장 Steve Halligan과 ESGAR 2016 대회장 Panagiotis Prassopoulos 등이 참석한 가운데 진행돼 높은 관심을 모았다.

특히 직접 수기를 배울 수 있는 Hands-on workshop과 early morning debate session이 마련되어 학술 교류 증대를 도모하고 새로운 형태의 imaging interpretation session 및 interactive session 진행 등 흥미롭게 즐길 수 있는 프로그램 등도 진행되어 호평을 받았다.

김명진 조직위원장은 “이번 ACAR 2017을 통하여 대한민국 복부영상의학 및 관련 학문 분야의 국제적 위상을 고취할 수 있는 좋은 기회가 되었다”며, “앞으로 국내 영상의학 발전을 통한 유관 질병의 발견 및 정확한 진단으로 국민 건강 발전에 기여할 수 있는 계기를 마련한 것 같다”고 밝혔다.

김승협 대회장은 “국내외 어려운 여건에서도 국내외 참석자들의 적극적인 관심과 참여로 역대 최대, 최고 성과를 기록할 수 있게 되었다”며, “앞으로도 회원분들의 적극적인 관심과 참여로 한국의 위상을 더욱 높여갈 수 있기를 바란다”고 말했다.

ACAR은 한국과 일본이 주축으로 2007년에 결성된 아시아복부영상의학회 (Asian Society of Abdominal Radiology)의 정기학술대회로 2007년 일본 미야자키에서 처음 개최되었으며, 2009년 2회 학술대회는 서울에서 개최된 바 있다.
